Jason B.A. Van Camp is a decorated Green Beret, world traveler, graduate of West Point, a former linebacker for the Army Black Knights Football team, and served for two years as a volunteer for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Russia. Oh, and he also commanded one of the largest Foreign Internal Defense Forces in U.S. history and led his team on nearly 300 combat missions to capture/kill high-value targets.
He later earned his MBA from Brigham Young University and it was there he developed a passion for entrepreneurship and a desire to serve others. He founded Mission Six Zero, an elite leadership training program, and the non-profit organization, Warrior Rising, that supports and empowers veterans to create sustainable businesses.
“Finally, I said I’m going to do something about this...I’m going to start a nonprofit that helps veterans start their own business,” said Jason.
This busy father of two also found time this year to write a book, Deliberate Discomfort. The book is about how U.S. Special Operation Forces overcome fear and dare to win by getting comfortable being uncomfortable.
“This book will serve as your roadmap to getting what you want in life by deliberately, carefully, and methodically choosing to be uncomfortable,” according to Jason.
BOOK GIVEAWAY: We are excited to host a Deliberate Discomfort book giveaway during our “Four Days of the 4th”. For more details or to enter the giveaway go to www.nugentmagazine.com
We enjoyed having Jason at our office for an interview--and of course, we made sure Adam and Jason were six feet apart! We are looking forward to doing a podcast with Jason soon.
