Utah Pay It Forward organization delivers meals to families and healthcare workers, donations needed
The Utah Pay It Forward initiative was recently created to help feed families in need while providing sustainability for local restaurants The organization is working to help feed all Utahns who may not be able to leave their homes and to support the healthcare community who are on the front lines fighting for our health and well being. Utah Pay It Forward is seeking donations of time and or money to help serve all Utahns in need, one meal at a time.
“One hundred percent of the money goes to feeding people,” said Jenni Price who with her husband, Ronnie, are volunteers at Utah Pay It Forward.
“We send our love and support to all families and businesses in need in the state of Utah,” said Ronnie. “If you can donate your time or money in any way, every dollar counts and every meal counts.”
Utah Pay It Forward was co-founded by local businessmen, Brian Hymel and Gavin Dickson. “Brian and his family bought food and donated it to neighbors in need, said Dickson. “I saw what he was doing on his social media and decided to help and matched what he was doing.” The duo decided they needed to encourage others to “pay it forward” and set up the Utah Pay It Forward initiative and have partnered with local restaurants and donors to provide food for those in need.
“Utahpayitforward.com is here to uplift and support as many people as possible in our community. Serving as a reminder that “if we all do a little we can do a lot together,” states the website, utahpayitforward.com. With the help of our trusted members in the foodservice industry, our primary focus is to help feed the most at-risk members of our community, children, and adults who may not be able to leave their homes. We are also supporting and encouraging everyone to help support our healthcare community who is on the front line fighting for our health and well being.”

Utah Pay It Forward is working with local restaurants that are following the food preparation protocols outlined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Currently, the following restaurants are participating in the program: Tuscany, Franck’s, Caputos, Sicilia Mia, Saffron Valley, Crown Burger, and Astro Burger. The organization is welcoming other restaurants to participate.
Over the last few weeks, Utah Pay It Forward has delivered nearly 20,000 meals and hundreds of bags of food to vulnerable families and children and to healthcare workers, according to Jenni. The organization will be working with hospital officials to onboard as many hospitals in Utah as possible while strictly following the procedures for food donations which requires all meals to be prepared by members of the foodservice industry.
Utah Pay It Forward partnered with the Forever Young Foundation, a 501c3 organization, founded in 1993 by NFL Hall of Famer and Super Bowl MVP Steve Young. Forever Young Foundation serves children facing significant physical, emotional, and financial challenges. You can learn more about the work of the foundation at www.foreveryoung.org.
“We are grateful to the Forever Young Foundation for partnering with us and for covering all the operating costs-including accounting and credit card fees- so that 100 percent of the money donated can go towards feeding people,” said Dickson.
